Itinerary
East Coast Tour- Full day excursion to East coast of UAE an Fujairah city tour
The tour to the East Coast takes you to the Hajar mountain range, a picturesque East coast tour which covers a large part of the country, possibly protecting its boundaries from unfeasible external aggression and illegal migrants to this oil rich country. En-route to Fujairah, you will pass through the Emirate of Sharjah and at less than 8 kms you will arrive at Masafi, which is famous in the region for its mineral water plant and bottling factory. As you pass through the valley of the Hajjar Mountains, we stop at some “wadis”, the ancient riverbeds, which are dried out and formed over the millenniums. It is such a nice experience to see the gigantic mountains which seem to be marching towards the heavens. The Hajjar mountain range will not fade from your memory as you feel the story of its remoteness and its solitude at this rare no man's land.
A stop at the Friday market will let you experience some of the home-grown fruits, vegetables etc. At the market, you will find many pottery shops and carpet shops where you can buy numerous things of your choice including various types of hand-made and machine-made carpets. Make sure to use your bargaining skills….
Move on to visit the banks of the Indian Ocean by passing through the territory of Oman to reach Dibba. This small village is a part of Oman. However, you will see many boundary lines separating UAE and Oman. Visit the local fish market and then continue the drive along the coast en-route small fishing villages. Soon you will arrive at the Badiya mosque, the oldest mosque in the country built out of stone and mud bricks. This is a unique piece of architecture of the Emirates built in approximately 1446 AD. The mosque does have four pointed tiny domes and an incredibly old well to fetch water for the worshippers to clean themselves before they enter the mosque. We visit the Heritage village of Fujairah where you can see the ancient artefacts and buildings which gives you a cultural insight about the pre-oil era. The trip continues towards Khor-Fakkan - one of the most popular places for scuba diving & snorkelling. The tour continues to pass through the port town and the Emirate of Fujairah, finally a drive back to your hotel.
